Today In History, April 19: Waco, Texas

On April 19, 1993, the 51-day siege at the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas, ended as fire destroyed the structure after federal agents began smashing their way in; about 80 people, including two dozen children and sect leader David Koresh, were killed. In 1935, the Universal Pictures horror film "Bride of Frankenstein," starring Boris Karloff with Elsa Lanchester in the title role, had its world premiere in San Francisco.

‘Taken’ Reboot Basically Dead at NBC

The drama, starring Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals, aired on Fridays and will wrap its sophomore run on Saturdays starting in May. NBC has yanked the second-year drama - a reboot of the Liam Neeson film - from its home on Fridays, effectively canceling the show starring Clive Standen and Jennifer Beals. The handful of episodes remaining will be burned off on Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT starting May 26 .
