Steven Spielberg's massive new movie "Ready Player One" not only riffs on the filmmaker's legacy, but harkens back to the breezy and imaginative fun of his biggest crowd-pleasers. Spielberg's influence on both popcorn blockbusters and history-based prestige films really can't be overstated: This was, after all, the man who gave us both "Schindler's List" and "Jurassic Park" - and in the same year.

The Frankenstein story has become an archetype, with many direct and loose media adaptations and others that reference it including the Universal and Hammer film series, the blaxploitation movie The Universal film that shot Boris Karloff to stardom as the Monster takes many major and minor liberties with Mary Shelley's novel. They include changing Victor Frankenstein's first name to Henry and making his creation unable to speak.

We said a man, named Jonathan Aws, spotted a basking shark gliding through the water between Mermaids Quay and Cardiff Bay Barrage. We described how he was filming boats with his sons, Michael and Sean, when he spotted a dorsal fin on Saturday.

April is finally here and that means we're in for a treat this month with new summer shows and movies. Outside of the obvious Avengers: Infinity War that's expected to be the end of many fan-favorite Marvel heroes, we have an HBO documentary about one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, as well as a feature film from the same network starring Al Pacino as football coach Joe Paterno.

'Jurassic Park' star Jeff Goldblum has opened up about how he had to fight to keep Ian Malcolm in the original film. Jeff Goldblum may be making a comeback to the 'Jurassic Park' franchise in 'Jurassic World 2', bringing the Dr. Ian Malcolm character back to the big screen for the first time in two decades, but it wasn't always going to be the case.

In 2006, while reading the synopsis of Vikram Chandra's Sacred Games at a book store in Delhi, I was bemused to note that the author had borrowed a near forgettable character from his last book, Love and Longing in Bombay, to create this narrative. Khakhi-clad Sartaj Singh becomes more than a seemingly lonesome, pitiable divorcee from the first book, when he dons his Sherlock Holmes-cape to investigate why Mafioso Ganesh Gaitonde would remain holed up in the heart of Mumbai instead of enjoying the luxury that his sinister activities has earned him.
