Don Mancini doesn't think seven feature films are enough, and is set to bring his 'Child's Play' horror icon, Chucky the murderous doll, to television screens in an eight-part horror series. The announcement comes after the critically-acclaimed 'Cult of Chucky' was released last year, impressing the loyal fanbase which have stuck with the series ever since its initial conception.

The last 24 hours have been miserable. Last night, David Simon took to Twitter to sadly announce that Reg E. Cathey , the astounding character actor known for key roles in TV and film , had passed away after a battle with cancer at 60. And then this morning, the sense of loss was compounded with the news that Johann Johannsson , the ingenious musician and composer behind the wondrous scores for Sicario , Arrival , and The Theory of Everything , has also passed away due to unknown causes.

There are plenty of actors who don't become household names but bring rich talent to the table as character actors that everyone recognizes. The Wire and House of Cards star Reg E. Cathey was one of those actors, and sadly he's no longer with us.

The American actor was best known for playing barbecue joint owner Freddy Hayes in House of Cards and Baltimore politician Norman Wilson in The Wire. David Simon, creator of The Wire, announced Cathey's death on Twitter on Friday, hailing him as a "fine, masterful actor" and "one of the most delightful human beings".

The beloved actor passed away at his home in New York, surrounded by friends and family. We're told he'd been battling lung cancer.

Actor John Gavin, best know for his role in Alfred Hitchcock's cult horror "Psycho," has died. He was 86. "A sad day, my great friend John Gavin died This morning," director William Friedkin wrote on Twitter.

John Gavin, the tall, strikingly handsome actor who appeared in "Spartacus," ''Psycho" and other hit films of the 1960s before becoming President Ronald Reagan's ambassador to Mexico, has died at age 86. Budd Burton Moss is the manager of Gavin's wife, actress Constance Towers. He says Gavin died Friday.
