Though zombies have dominated early 21st century monster tales, I think it's fair to say the undisputed king of the genre remains the vampire. There have been dozens of films made just about the most famous bloodsucker of them all, Dracula, and that number could climb into the hundreds if you counted up every one that's employed the basic vampire lore.

The second category includes exclusively seasonal fare: "A Bad Moms Christmas" ; the Nativity-themed animation "The Star" ; and "The Man Who Invented Christmas" , a story about Charles Dickens and the writing of "A Christmas Carol." But those films have, by definition, a short shelf life, with sell-by dates of Jan. 2. Although looking forward to a great new movie brings a sense of anticipation akin to an unopened present, it's a gift that, if chosen carefully, will keep on giving regardless of the season.

There are a few comic book movies outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DCEU worth getting excited about over the next few years, but nothing quite like Spawn . Many fans have demanded a more faithful take on the character since the mediocre 1997 movie, and while a reboot is definitely coming , we still don't know much about it.
