He's one of America's most respected filmmakers with such films under his belt like the cult classic Something Wild and the powerhouse Tom Hanks vehicle, Philadelphia . Top Gun star Val Kilmer has appeared to confirm he had cancer, after previously claiming he had "no cancer whatsoever". While answering questions put to him by Reddit users, the actor revealed he "did have a healing of cancer" and was still dealing with a swollen tongue.

The Ghost And The Darkness actor has previously denied he had the illness, but seemed to admit it during a "ask me anything" event on social media site Reddit. Hollywood legend Michael Douglas even confirmed Val had been battling the disease , letting slip about his old pal who also starred in The Ghost And The Darkness with him in 1996 during a Q&A with Jonathan Ross.
