The 58-year-old actress made her name starring in a series of 80s horror flicks including 'Re-Animator', 'Chopping Mall' and 'From Beyond' before deciding to take a "self-imposed retirement" after finding work had dried up. However, she is now back working again, having appeared in a number of modern horror movies including 'You're Next', 'We Are Still Here' and 'Sun Choke'.

The 'Rosemary's Baby' director pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a minor in 1977 after plying Samantha Gailey with champagne and drugs before taking topless photos and having sex with her during a photoshoot when she was just 13 and agreed a plea deal which allowed him to serve 42 days in detention while undergoing psychiatric tests. But he fled to France when he feared the deal would be dropped and he'd be sent to prison for a long stint, and has remained in Europe - including stints in his native Poland - ever since.

As the latest remake hits our screens, Tim Martin tells the forgotten story of the larger-than-life explorer who created the original "Giant Terror Gorilla". In 1931, the explorer, soldier, aviator, businessman, writer, producer and film-maker Merian Cooper wrote a memo to David O. Selznick, boss at RKO Pictures.
