A family representative says prolific and charismatic actor Bill Paxton, who played an astronaut in "Apollo 13" and a treasure hunter in "Titanic," has died from complications due to surgery. He was 61. Paxton, a Texas native, got his start in films in the art department on Roger Corman movies in the '70s before getting a chance to go in front of the camera.

A family representative said in a statement: "It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. "A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and film-maker.

FX limited series "Feud: Bette and Joan," premiering March 5, chronicles dueling divas Bette Davis and Joan Crawford , as they try to jump-start their waning careers by making the 1962 film, "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" "They were larger-than-life people," says creator Ryan Murphy, already planning Feud's next installment. "Their fury was a result of how they were treated by men."

It was in 1985 that pop culture was introduced to character Emmett "Doc" Brown in the sci-fi smash "Back to the Future," which also starred Michael J. Fox.

It looks like a third film in the rebooted "Piranha" horror franchise is on the way. Bloody Disgusting reports that producer Hisako Tsukaba is currently working on a new movie in the series which is targeting a 2018 release.

Clive Standen stars as a younger Bryan Mills in NBC's "Taken," a prequel to the film franchise. Styled as a prequel to Luc Besson's vigilante action trilogy of the same name, "Taken," which premieres in series form Monday on NBC, does share with the films a lead character named Bryan Mills, originally played by Liam Neeson , and instances in which a character is "taken."
