"Veep" star Louis-Dreyfus tearfully shared during her Emmy acceptance speech that her father, William Louis-Dreyfus, had passed away on Friday. "I'm so glad that he liked 'Veep' because his opinion was the one that really mattered," Louis-Dreyfus said as she accepted the statue for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series.

JUST in time for Halloween, celebrated horror film maker Rob Zombie has unleashed his latest gore-filled offering - and this time out, Welsh acting and poetry play a prominent part in the on-screen carnage. Not only has the director and Grammy Award-winning musician cast a Welshman in the role of the show-stealing leading bad guy, but he's also quoted Swansea's most celebrated poet as well.

As we first reported last month Lionsgate has finally decided to dig into their monstrous, decades-spanning inventory of Vestron Video titles and start releasing certain films in newly remastered collector's editions. Their inaugural title, Chopping Mall , hits shelves on 9/27, and after spending some time with a review copy I'm happy to say it should be a must-own release for fans of the film as it's a definite upgrade from all previous versions.

Back in 1997 - before X-Men changed how superhero movies were made - there was a comic book movie called Spawn . It was about a cult favorite character who was a reluctant soldier for the demons of hell and the movie was really, really bad.

"American Horror Story" has spent five seasons building a reputation for having striking visuals, off-the-rails writing, and plenty of movie references peppered throughout. One could easily get a crash course on the history of genre cinema just by studying the references that Ryan Murphy and his team have pulled from countless films.

Though movies often get a bum wrap for "not being original," thanks to remakes, sequels, and adaptations, there's one place that picks up the films and gives them an even longer life - television. There are already a ton of TV shows in development that are based on movies and this season will see the premiere of even more like Taken , Training Day , and Westworld , just to name a few.

Alex Winter, left, and Keanu Reeves star as goofballs Bill and Ted in the two 1980s/'90s comedies "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey," now available in a three-disc Blu-ray set with bountiful bonus features. The animated features "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Iron Giant" lead newly released vintage titles on Blu-ray and DVD this week.
