Beverly Hills, CA -- June 29, 2016 -- Netflix, the world's leading Internet network, announced today that it was making seven films written and directed by comedian Albert Brooks available for streaming for the first time starting tomorrow, Friday, July 1. The films include: Defending Your Life, which marks its 25th anniversary this year; Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World; Lost in America; Modern Romance; Mother; The Muse; and Real Life. "Albert Brooks and his films have been a huge influence on American comedy," said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, "His innovative early short films and comedy albums lead to body of film work that thrives in the culture and keeps us laughing today.

The comedic legacy of Ghostbusters is pretty firmly set in stone - deep enough that even the idea of a reboot was enough to freak out Gen X manchildren and send them running to the hills crying about their damaged childhoods. But with the soundtrack for the reboot causing even further consternation one track at a time, a lot of people are probably left reflecting on that Ray Parker Jr. theme song and All The Feels it brings up in the hearts of the '80s babies that now comprise the majority pop-cultural voice of the internet.

Superstition dictates when the 13th of a month falls on a Friday, forget about leaving the house - have a duvet day and avoid any activities which may lead to harm, misery and even death. There's also the horror film franchise, which doesn't really help matters with its machete-wielding villain and high body count.

Appearing on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Wednesday night, Samuel spoke about how he was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards last Sunday, but made it clear the prize doesn't mark his retirement.

This year doesn't mark a celebratory anniversary for Steven Spielberg 's 1975 summer blockbuster Jaws , but the film was still released 41 years ago as of last week. Anyway, who needs a good reason to celebrate one of the best thrillers of all time despite the presence of a fake shark who is barely seen throughout the movie? Screen Junkies is getting in the summer spirit and leading up the release of Steven Spielberg's The BFG this weekend with a Jaws Honest Trailer, but as you might expect, they have much more praise to give out than they normally do when they decide to skewer movies.
