Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning actress Mary Louise Wilson will be the Guest of Honor at the 34th annual Elliot Norton Awards on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 7 PM, at Boston's Citi Performing Arts Center Shubert Theatre. The ceremony will feature nominated musical performances, the awarding of The Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence, a post-ceremony party, and surprise appearances and performances.

Johnny Depp could be replacing original Beetlejuice actor Michael Keaton in the Beetlejuice sequel. Rumours of the sequel have been circling since 2011, with the latest being that Winina Ryder has signed on to reprise her role of Lydia.

Almost as long as there has been cinema there have been horror movies. While the genre is often branded with the stigma of being low-brow, cheap, and only for hardcore fans of jump scares and gore, it is also responsible for some of the greatest films of all-time, and certainly many of our favorites fall somewhere along the horror spectrum.

When you mention the name of famed filmmaker Sam Rami, you're likely to remember him one of two ways. The first is as the young, ambitious "indie-before-there-was-an-indie" filmmaker who, along with his college buddies and very little cash, birthed the frantic, gory, and bizarrely comedic Evil Dead horror film series in the 1980s.

The "Braveheart" star and his jacked-up dad bod take on drug dealers in Jean-Francois Richet's action-thriller Mel Gibson is on the comeback trail this year between his new directorial effort "Hacksaw Ridge" starring Andrew Garfield and the action-thriller "Blood Father," in which he channels his best Liam Neeson -in-"Taken" impression. Now we can get our first glimpse at Gibson in vengeance mode, as Icon Films has released the first trailer for "Blood Father," in which he plays an ex-con who comes to his daughter's rescue when she becomes the target of dangerous drug dealers.

"Escape Artist: A Tribute to John Carpenter " continued with the exploits of Snake Plissken in the double feature of " Escape From New York " and " Escape from LA " at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica. These films featured some of the collaborations between Carpenter and Kurt Russell who first worked together on " Elvis ."
