While visiting their remote lake house, a mother and her two young daughters must fight for survival after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a homicidal psychopath.

The drama, based on Philipp Meyer's novel of the same name, was ordered straight-to-series last month, with 10 hour-long episodes set to air in 2017. It is described as a multi-generational epic telling of the story of America's birth as a superpower through the bloody rise and fall of one Texas family.

Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Sam Neill will lead a cast that also includes Henry Garrett , Zahn McClarnon , Paola Nunez and Sydney Lucas , The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The Son is based on the book by Philipp Meyer and hails from Sonar Entertainment.

The original cast of Beetlejuice have signed on for the sequel. Director Tim Burton confirmed that both Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton will be back, playing the parts of Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice.

The J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi suspense flick was kept, in typical Abrams fashion, closely under wraps - to the point where even Winstead didn't know it was so closely linked to its spiritual predecessor, 2008's Cloverfield , until the trailer dropped in January.

Graduates, ready the popcorn: renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg will speak at Harvard's 365th Commencement on May 26, the University announced Thursday. Cameras will be rolling when Spielberg, a two-time Oscar winner for Best Director, addresses graduates and their families during the Afternoon Exercises of Commencement, which will take place in Harvard Yard's Tercentenary Theatre.
