Grippingly frightening dedicated fans of the horror genre through physical and emotional scares can be a challenging task, as many viewers have become desensitized, and are unable to relate to characters who are contending with distressing situations. So creating enthralling and insightful horror movies and televisions series that captivatingly chronicle the problems of contemporary society in a purposeful way is certainly an even bigger challenge.

A tornado swept along Zeering Road on Sunday afternoon, damaging roofs of residences and a church, knocking down outbuildings and fences, downing power lines, breaking gas lines and causing other destruction. There were no reports of injuries.

In a development likely to give Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan some sense of relief, Universal has officially decided to shoot Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed back to back, giving its actors a chance to fulfill their commitments to the troubled franchise in one fell swoop. In addition, the studio has confirmed James Foley to direct both sequels, with author E.L. James' husband Niall Leonard adapting both stories for the big screen.

The " Friday the 13th " movies have always divided critics and moviegoers. The utter hatred of movies like these from critics such as Siskel & Ebert gave people more of a reason to see them than not.

Misery , the new Broadway suspense thriller based on Stephen King 's novel of the same name, officially opens Nov. 15 at 6:30 PM following previews that began Oct. 22 at the Broadhurst Theatre. The premiere stars Emmy Award winners Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf and Leon Addison Brown .

It is impossible to play Funcom's The Park without thinking of recent psychological horror films like The Babadook and Session 9 . Though it may be inelegant to bifurcate the horror genre into two categories - the grotesque and grand guignol films of, say, Wes Craven, against smaller, more intimate films - it's worth doing so to note the way in which these divergent categories reflect two opposite approaches towards fear.
