Nevertheless, like he had with "Psycho" in the previous decade, Hitchcock once again reinvented the thriller with this unsparing, brutally violent, and sexually explicit tale of a wronged man fingered for a serial killer.

Stephen King based his fictional Overlook Hotel from his novel, "The Shinning," on The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, just about an hour north of Boulder. The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting colder, and all anyone can talk about is the heralded arrival of the super blood moon - if ever there was a prime time to watch horror movies, this would be it.

Catherine E. Coulson, best known for playing the Log Lady on "Twin Peaks," died Monday at the age of 71. The actress had a recurring role in both seasons of the David Lynch series, and also appeared in the follow-up film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me." She was set to reprise her role in the upcoming Showtime reboot of the series.
