During this time, she had recently been picked to play Zee in The Matrix Reloaded - a role she never got to fulfill which was later given to Nona Gaye - and opened up about her path and the people that helped lead her to that big step in her career.

Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the tragic death of r&b singer Aaliyah. The singer, who was 22 at the time of her death in a plane crash in the Bahamas where she had just shot the video for her song "Rock the Boat," was recently the subject of a made-for-TV biopic on the Lifetime network and, it was recently announced that her former producer and close collaborator Timbaland has unreleased music by the fallen songstress which could see the light of day soon.
