The American filmmaker passed away at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with brain cancer, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Whether he was creating a horrific dream world in A Nightmare on Elm Street, a slimy comedy Swamp Thing or bringing together an all-star cast for slasher series Scream, Wes more than made his mark on the genre during a glorious career.

In a cute message to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, the actor gave his score in a photo posted to Instagram. "The reason I call them perfectly symbiotic, it's that they each represent the other side of each other's coin," Ritchie has said.

Wes Craven, the prolific horror filmmaker behind "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and the "Scream" movies, died Sunday at his Los Angeles home after a battle with brain cancer, according to his representative. He was 76. As a child, Craven was not a moviegoer.

Stonington -- The borough has boasted its share of literary stars over the years and now the Stonington Historical Society will offer a guided tour through that literary past on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 1 p.m. The tour, will be led by residents and authors James Boylan and Betsy Wade, who counted some of the writers among their friends.
