Officials at TV ratings firm Nielsen studied U.S. commercials featuring stars from the first quarter of 2015 and scored them for factors including likeability, public awareness and influence. Neeson and Brosnan tied as the top celebrities in the inaugural N-Scores poll, but the Taken star, who voices advertisements for mobile gaming firm Supercell Games, was found to have a greater influence in selling products to the public.

Benedict Cumberbatch is among a group of actors to voice their opposition to the Government's proposals to scrap the Human Rights Act. The Sherlock star, Homeland's David Harewood, Game Of Thrones actress Indira Varma, Vanessa Redgrave and Simon Callow have appeared in short films based on experiences of people who have relied on the legislation.

I kinda thought Marco Rubio had already scraped the bottom of the allegorical barrel in suggesting he'd base his approach to IS on that great national security strategist Liam Neeson, or at least Neeson's character in the Taken series. I'm not a war monger, let me be very clear - I think the best way to avoid war is to have the most robust military in the history of mankind and the kind of military nobody ever wants to wake up and find on the other end of the fight.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of "Here's Johnny" becoming one of cinema's most iconic lines, the crew and even some of the cast from The Shining assembled at Elstree Studios, the famed U.K. facility where much of Stanley Kubrick's acclaimed psychological horror was shot in 1979. Arranged by Warner Bros and The Elstree Project, a local program aimed maintaining the studios heritage, the group later attended a special screening of the film in the Odyssey Cinema in St. Albans, the nearby town outside London where Kubrick lived for 20 years until his death in 1999.

Joyce Maynard, whose book ?To Die For? was inspired by the Pamela Smart case is asking Gov. Maggie Hassan that Smart, sentenced to life for being an accomplice to the murder of her husband, be considered for parole. Smart is serving life without parole after being convicted of plotting the 1990 murder of Gregory Smart.

Chris Pratt has apologized in advance for his upcoming Jurassic World press tour, calling himself "dumb" and warning that his comments might be "tasteless". Pratt, 35, wrote a message to fans on his Facebook page.

Actor David Gulpilil will be the subject of a major retrospective at the Melbourne International Film Festival this year. "It's something so obvious that we can't believe we haven't thought of it before," said MIFF artistic director Michelle Carey.
