Body found in suitcase in Tokyo Station locker

A worker at Japan's Tokyo Station got an unpleasant shock after opening an abandoned suitcase that no one had claimed for a month: the decomposing body of an elderly woman inside. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police said the corpse was found Sunday in a suitcase in a temporary storage area at Tokyo's main train station.

Betsy Palmer, dies; was killer cook in ‘Friday the 13th’

Betsy Palmer, the veteran character actress who achieved lasting, though not necessarily sought-after, fame as the murderous camp cook in the cheesy horror film "Friday the 13th," has died at age 88. Palmer died Friday of natural causes at a hospice care center in Connecticut, her longtime manager, Brad Lemack, told The Associated Press on Sunday. Palmer had appeared in films, on Broadway and in TV shows for decades before she took the role of Mrs. Voorhees in the campy 1980 movie in which young camp counselors suddenly begin meeting their bloody demise.

Standing before a small plain of straw boaters looking up at him, Groton School keynote speaker Christopher Isham, the CBS Washington bureau chief and class of '71, brought the group back to 1998 when he was asking his boss for $30,000 to fly halfway across the world to interview an emerging terrorist leader named Osama Bin Laden. His boss pushed back, wondering why they would put so much money toward an interview with someone nobody's ever heard of.
