In his review of Michael Curtiz's Mildred Pierce , screening this weekend at the Music Box as part of the "Weepie Noir: The Dark Side of Women's Pictures" series, Dave Kehr calls the film "the archetypal Joan Crawford film," which it very well could be-I actually haven't seen it, and I'm also not that sure what constitutes an "archetypal Joan Crawford film." Crawford's 45-year career is among the most varied and storied of any Hollywood actress-it transcends multiple eras, stylistic shifts, and industry overhauls.

In a little over two weeks, Furious 7 ticket sales collection has managed to cross $1.08 billion mark. In India, this movie has become the first-ever Hollywood movie to cross the Rs 100 crore mark, and that too in just 8 days of premiere.

The Stanley Film Festival is gearing up to haunt and entice genre lovers between April 30 and May 3, replete with the best unreleased foreign and domestic horror films of 2015. Produced by the Denver Film Society and presented by Chiller, Colorado's most impressive film festival recently announced its full feature and special events lineup , including the SFF's "Closing Night" lineup and their "2015 Master of Horror" presentation.

Ahead of Monday's new trailer debut, Universal Pictures has released the second in a trio of new posters for Jurassic World that are being rolled out over the weekend. Yesterday's one-sheet featured Bryce Dallas Howard squaring off with a very CG-looking dinosaur, while today's poster takes a look at how things are faring underwater at the fully functional Jurassic Park.

"Taken 3" : Written by series creators Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen and directed by French action workhorse Olivier Megaton, the finale of the "Taken" franchise dutifully cleaves to the contours of a well-established and viscerally satisfying formula, which dictates a brief introduction to the sleepily domestic life of retired CIA operative Bryan Mills , followed by 75 minutes or so of frenetic action triggered by some attack on and/or abduction of a loved one. Here it is not an act of kidnapping that sets our hero off, as in the first two films, but the murder of his ex-wife , for which Bryan has been framed.
