Michael Winterbottom has revealed he felt the hype around the Amanda Knox trial meant that the tragedy of Meredith Kercher's murder was overlooked. The Trip director's new film, starring Cara Delevingne and Daniel Bruhl, is inspired by the trial of American student Amanda Knox and her boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito for the 2007 murder of her British roommate Meredith while they were both living and studying in Perugia, Italy.

"Game of Thrones" director Brian Kirk has closed a deal to direct 20th Century Fox, Scott Free and Genre Films' action-thriller "Narco Sub," which will likely star Liam Neeson , multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap . David Guggenheim wrote the movie, which Ridley Scott is producing with Simon Kinberg of Genre Films, whose Aditya Sood will executive produce with Scott Free's Elishia Holmes.

When he realized the streetcar named Desire had been replaced by an RTA bus named Desire, he had a friend take a picture of him exiting the bus, and he used the photo as his Christmas card one year.
