Roman Polanski's lawyer has said the film-maker will attend a Polish court hearing next week concerning a US extradition request. Polish-born Polanski has been wanted by US police since 1977, when he fled the country after being charged with having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Famed and infamous heiress Patty Hearst was back in the news Monday after a dog she co-owns won its group at the Westminster Kennel Club show. Hearst is the granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst and gained great notoriety in 1974 when she was kidnapped by the radical group the Symbionese Liberation Army.

Last night's avalanche of Saturday Night Live nostalgia with its 40th Anniversary Special was an insane trip down memory lane. However, wrapping up a live medley of past SNL musical characters, it would also see the return of Bill Murray as over-the-top lounge singer, Nick Ocean.

After appearing in several French films, Jourdan starred in Alfred Hitchcock's "The Paradine Case" in 1947 and shot various films over the next decade including "Madame Bovary," "Decameron Nights," and "Three Coins in the Fountain". In 1958 he had his big break as a playboy in the musical "Gigi," which scored him a Golden Globe nomination.

The Avatar star played Ripley in the 1979 sci-fi classic Alien and sequels Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection. Recently, District 9 director Neill Blomkamp shared some artwork for what he imagined another instalment to look like and Sigourney, who worked with him recently on upcoming sci-fi thriller Chappie, told Coming Soon she would consider reprising her role.
