After 20 years, Vanity Fair has perfected the formula for its Hollywood issue cover. And since looking at one Vanity Fair cover inevitably leads to looking at all the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue covers, here are some random thoughts on past years.... 1995: It's ladies only - but why is everyone wearing lingerie except for Gwyneth Paltrow, red carpet-ready in a ballgown? Also, good call on Patricia Arquette.

The only thing more feverishly worshipped than John Carpenter's horror movies and cult classics are the soundtracks that go along with them. Carpenter, who scores the majority of his flicks and penned some of the most recognizable tunes to waft through a crowded theater, is big on partnering screaming heroines with stark, minimalist musical pairings and building tension to the point where you can cut his scenes with a knife.

The 'Underworld' actress and the 'Boys Don't Cry' star will appear in the upcoming screen adaptation of JANE AUSTEN 's novella 'Lady Susan'. The movie - which will be helmed by Whit Stillman - marks a reunion for the pair, who previously starred together in the 1998 comedy drama 'Last Days of Disco'.

Fans of Milla Jovovich may have cause for concern regarding her latest character: The Resident Evil actress is circling a new fantasy-adventure film based on a story by the Game of Thrones mastermind, George R.R. Martin! Will she be able to tell the Literary God of Death, "Not today?" It looks like we shall certainly find out when Jovovich finalizes negations to appear in this new Martin adaptation. According to a THR report , Jovovich is finalizing a deal that will have her star in the fantasy epic In the Lost Lands .
