Creepy film was inspired by true tale of Dennis Lynn Rader, a devoted family man who had a double life as serial killer Sure, vampires and bloodthirsty ghosts are scary, but nothing creeps out horror master Stephen King more than the idea that the darkest impulses of the human soul can be hiding in plain sight. Or more accurately, in one's home, which is the premise behind King's new film, "A Good Marriage," which opens Friday.

Jennifer Love Hewitt goes from a house madam on "The Client List" to a veteran agent on "Criminal Minds," which kicks off its 10th season. The former "Party of Five" breakout hasn't had much experience with dark material, so it'll be interesting to see if she flinches during the first gruesome crime scene.

One of the scariest things about the best horror films are their lack of explanation. Why is Michael Meyers out to kill babysitters? Why does Pazuzu choose Regan? Why does Rosemary get stuck with the spawn of Satan? The randomness of it all is part of what makes the terror so penetrating.

They've spent years crafting a beast that acts so much like the original creature you'll be left shaking scared. It follows Amanda Ripley, who is investigating the disappearance of her mum Ellen, played in the film by Sigourney Weaver.

It was 10 years ago that SAW first found its way into movie theaters and scared the crap out of audiences wordwide. Long before James Wan and Leigh Whannell created the INSIDIOUS films, before Wan directed the massively successful THE CONJURING, before they became established contributors to horror, they were just two guys making a low-budget horror film.
