Hot off the modest commercial success of Oculus, writer-director Mike Flanagan has lined up an adaptation of one of the few Stephen King books that have yet to be made into a film: Gerald's Game. The 1992 novel finds a woman trapped in a remote cabin, handcuffed to her bed after a bondage sex game with her husband causes his accidental death. Insanity ensues. Flanagan, who has already written the script with writing partner Jeff Howard, is a longtime fan of the novel, comparing it to Misery and saying it "has been a dream project for many years."
