If you've found horror movies so far this year to be a bit too serious, Stage Fright is on its way to save the day. On the surface, it seems like a throwback to the '80s slasher heyday (check out the retro poster), but look closer at the trailer and you'll see a distinct comedic vibe and, although it tries to play it down a bit, there are definitely some musical numbers in there. (And yes, that is Minnie Driver and Meatloaf as well.)

If you're having Conjuring withdrawal and can't wait another month for (perhaps) the next big haunted house film, Oculus, then you might want to check out Haunt, now available on demand and in a limited number of theaters starting this Friday. It may not be an all-time classic, but it's a good old-fashioned ghost movie for a dark and stormy night. Read about it in my review of Haunt.
