No movie that opens with Gerard Butler being beheaded, even off-screen, can be all that bad, and so maybe I shouldn't be surprised by the not-so-bad-ness of director Noam Murro's 300: Rise of an Empire .

Beautiful Creatures star Alice Englert takes the anti-blockbuster route in In Fear, a tiny British film with a cast of just three people and a minimal plot about a couple driving around trying to find a hotel. The result is surprisingly tense and worth a watch. Read about it in my review of In Fear, which hits DVD and Blu-ray on Tuesday, March 11.
