This is one Frankenstein that is more hunk than horror. The slightly scarred muscle-bound Frankenstein, Aaron Eckhart is easier on the eyes than most screen depictions of the horrific monster created by Mary Shelley's character of the monster in Frankenstein.

One of my most anticipated horror movies of 2014 is Oculus, which has the potential to become the next Insidious or The Conjuring in terms of crossover appeal -- in part because it comes from Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions, which has brought us the Insidious and Paranormal Activity movies, plus Sinister and The Purge, amongst others. It's also gotten good reviews in festival screenings so far, and now that the first trailer has been released, we have a chance to see what we can expect from the film. In short, it looks pretty darn good -- much better than the poster, which falls back on the now clichéd supernatural movie staple of "creepy hands reaching out from random places." We'll see how the film fares when Oculus hits theaters on April 11.
