Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones was unable to unseat Frozen from the top of the box office this past weekend, finishing in second place in its opening frame with an estimated $18.2 million. That's a great number for a film that cost only about $5 million, but it's a far cry from the previous three Paranormal Activity films, which earned between $29 million and $53 million in their debut weekends. Still, while the $18.2 million figure is a bit below expectations, it's one of the top 15 horror opening for January -- just below Hostel and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and just above last year's spoof A Haunted House, which exceeded expectations and ended up being considered enough of a hit to warrant a sequel.
