Like it or not, the remake train for Poltergeist appears to be inexorably chugging down the tracks, and now it finally has a destination. The official release date has been set for February 15, 2015. Um...happy Valentine's Day? Granted, it previously had an "official" release date -- way back in November 2010 -- but that incarnation hadn't gotten as far into pre-production as this one, so this remake seems like it's definitely happening. Hooray?

Every year, the Sundance Film Festival provides a glimpse into the future for horror fans, hosting premieres of several genre films -- primarily in its Park City at Midnight section -- looking for US distribution. Even better, with Sundance being so selective, they tend to be of high quality, so it's always interesting to see what fright fests will be coming down the pike. This year's Sundance horror/suspense slate is particularly loaded and full of promise, especially if you're a fan of zombies, vampires and horror comedies. The festival runs January 16-26 in Park City, Utah.
