It seems that any horror movie from the '70s and '80s with at least a moderate following will at some point be eyed for a remake, and the latest to join the list are Sleepaway Camp and Pet Sematary. The latter has actually been in the works for years now -- the script was written in 2010 -- but now it seems to be picking up steam with director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders) reportedly in talks to direct. You have to wonder, though, if the underwhelming box office performance of another recent Stephen King remake, Carrie, will slow down Pet Sematary's already-glacial progress. Fresnadillo previously signed on and subsequently left the pending remake of The Crow, so take this news with a grain of salt.
