Winona Ryder has revealed that she may be joining the cast of Beetlejuice 2 , the long-mooted sequel to Tim Burton 's 1988 horror-comedy.

A year ago, FX ordered a pilot episode adaptation of The Strain, the trilogy of vampire novels co-written by director Guillermo del Toro, and although it's taken a while, the channel likes what it's seen enough to order a full series. The 13-episode season, revolving around an infectious vampire virus, will begin airing in July 2014. The cast is headed by John Hurt, Kevin Durand, Sean Astin, Doug Jones and Corey Stoll, and Carlton Cuse will serve as show runner -- meaning he may have to give up that role on Bates Motel.

A good horror movie protagonist has to be able to do two things. They have to be likable enough that you actually care about them when they're put in danger by whatever horrific threat they're facing down, and they have to project enough vulnerability that you really believe they might not come out of the other end of the story all in one piece.
