Psychotic truck driver Rusty Nail is coming back for a third round, as Joy Ride 3 is set to begin production in September. Like 2008’s Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead, this sequel will go straight to video — with a release date scheduled for the summer of 2014. This time around, Rusty Nail will take on “a group of hotheaded street racers” who are no doubt both fast AND furious. The cast reportedly includes Leela Savasta (Battlestar Galactica, Stargate: Atlantis), Ben Hollingsworth (Cult), Gianpaolo Venuta (Being Human) and as Rusty Nail, Ken Kirzinger, who played Jason in Freddy vs. Jason. The film will be directed by direct-to-video veteran Declan O’Brien, who’s helmed the last three Wrong Turn films and a host of SyFy movies (including Sharktopus).
