After years of relative stagnancy (Trick ‘r Treat aside), the horror anthology format is returning with a vengeance. Three notable entries could be hitting screens this year, starting with V/H/S on October 5 (on demand August 31), then The ABCs of Death on October 19 (both in theaters and on demand) and finally Paris I’ll Kill You (date TBA). The trio features a who’s who of horror directors, from veterans like Joe Dante (The Howling, Gremlins) and David R. Ellis (The Final Destination, Shark Night) to up-and-comers like Ti West (The House of the Devil), Xavier Gens (Frontier(s), The Divide), Vincenzo Natali (Splice), Paco Plaza (REC), Christian Alvart (Pandorum, Case 39), Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein (Underworld Awakening), Ryuhei Kitamura (Midnight Meat Train), Christopher Smith (Triangle, Black Death), Ben Wheatley (Kill List) and many, many more.
