It might just be a publicity ploy timed for next week’s release of Scream 4 on home video, but director Wes Craven recently stated to MovieWeb “odds are that there will be” another Scream film. This comes despite the fact that the latest entry made $50 million LESS domestically than the previous franchise low (Scream 3‘s $89 million). Craven is optimistic, however, for three reasons:

Final Destination 5‘s August box office opening might have been disappointing, and it looks like, despite the elevated 3-D ticket prices, it will have the lowest domestic tally of the entire Final Destination franchise, but don’t be surprised if in a year or two, you see Final Destination 6 hitting the big screen. We'll see if the rest of the film -- about an American soldier who crash lands in a zombie-strewn African nation and teams with a local man searching for his son -- lives up to its promise. Until then, check out the trailer and some photos.
