MTV already has Teen Mom, so why not Teen Wolf? The music (?) cable channel’s previously announced teen drama incarnation of the ’80s werewolf comedy Teen Wolf now has a release date: June 5. The pilot, directed by Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction) will showcase in the slot behind the MTV Movie Awards.

Final Destination 5 is still months away, but should we already be expecting parts 6 and 7? According to horror icon Tony Todd, who played the mysterious mortician in the first two films and will be returning in part 5, there’s a good chance the next two entries will film back to back.

The Ring had a cursed video tape, The Grudge had a cursed home, One Missed Call had a cursed phone and Chain Letter (releasing on home video this week) has a cursed email. Other than that, this ridiculous slasher has little in common with those superior films (the Japanese originals, at least). Read about it in my review of Chain Letter.

Following last year’s announcement that Stephen King’s Dark Tower series would be made into multiple movies and a TV show (or at least a miniseries), another ambitions adaptation of his work is in the works. The Stand, his thousand-plus-page apocalyptic epic is being developed for theatrical release.
