Which Horror and Suspense Movies Have Won Oscars?

In honor of this yesterday’s announcement of the Academy Award nominees, I thought this would be a good time to trace the history of horror and suspense movies at the Oscars. Genre films generally aren’t considered “elite” or “artistic” enough to be worthy of the Oscars ceremony, but you might be surprised to find that there have been almost 30 such films honored by the Academy since the awards began in 1929. But don’t take my word for it; here’s a list detailing the horror and suspense movies that have won Oscars.
